Sarah
Senior Manager
Swimming has been central to Sarah’s life from an early age, growing up training daily and racing alongside her siblings. She began her teaching career in England in 1998 and has since taught, supervised and trained instructors internationally, holding management roles for more than a decade across a range of swim schools and programs.
Sarah holds a degree in Sports Education and has competed across multiple sports, including representing Hong Kong in International Rugby Union in 2010 while living and teaching there.
Since joining Superfish in 2014, Sarah has embraced every stage of her journey with the organisation. Starting as a Squad Coach, Learn to Swim and Baby teacher at Sunnybank, she progressed into management and played a key role in assisting Karen and Andrew with the opening of three additional Superfish Swim Schools.
Now an Australian citizen, Sarah is passionate about building strong teams, maintaining high teaching standards and contributing strategically to Superfish’s continued growth. She takes great pride in mentoring staff and watching children progress through their learn to swim journey, developing genuine life-saving skills.

Lynden
Manager | Pacific Pines - Gold Coast
Lynden began his journey with Superfish at just 12 years old in a junior role and has embraced every opportunity since. Growing up on the Gold Coast, he was always in the water — competing at school level, earning Age Champion honours and representing the South Coast Districts, while also enjoying life at the beach.
Having started in the Superfish program as a baby, returning as a manager holds special significance. Lynden understands firsthand the value of learning to swim — not only as a sport he loves, but as an essential life skill for Australia’s coastal lifestyle.
As a manager, he is committed to building confident swimmers, supporting families throughout their Superfish journey and leading a positive, high-performing team environment.
Superfish has been part of my life from the very beginning - now I have the privilege of sharing my love of swimming and helping others build essential life-saving skills.

Elizabeth
Manager | Benowa - Gold Coast
Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Business and brings a background in retail and working with children. Over two decades ago, she began bringing her first child to Superfish at just six months old. He loved his lessons, and she found great joy in watching him develop essential life skills while progressing from learn to swim through to squad.
Three more children followed, all moving through the Superfish program, with her youngest two still enrolled. Seeing her eldest achieve Age Champion at primary school and her youngest qualify for Districts reinforced her belief in the strength of the program.
Elizabeth is thrilled to have made the career move into the swimming industry. She loves working with children, watching them grow and excel, and takes great satisfaction in seeing parents share in the excitement of their child’s progress.
As a business, Superfish feels more like a supportive family.

Kerryn
Manager | Worongary - Gold Coast
Kerryn’s passion for working with children began on the Gold Coast, where she worked as a nanny while studying Childcare. She later moved to the UK, progressing from Group Leader to Centre Director before making a career transition into the Learn to Swim industry.
Superfish ignited her passion for drowning prevention, structured Learn to Swim programs and advanced stroke correction techniques. She finds immense satisfaction in watching children progress through every stage of the program - from Dippas and Nippas through to Squads - and values the strong relationships built with families along the way. The appreciation expressed by parents for the life-saving skills their children develop continues to be one of the most rewarding aspects of her career.
Winner - ASCTA Australian Teacher of the Year 2017
The relationships I have formed will forever be one of the greatest accomplishments of my career.

Teo
Manager | Sunnybank - Brisbane
Teo’s competitive swimming career started when he was a 9 year old and continued to age 16. He was a butterfly swimmer for his club at a state level. In 2010, astounded by his teachers and their teaching abilities, he decided to start to work as a junior teacher and since then has progressed through a number of swim schools and gained experience teaching students in different age groups.
In 2018, after moving to Australia to study a Master’s in Biotechnology, Teo worked at Monash University’s swimming pool as swimming instructor and completed Austswim courses for learn to swim teaching, as well as teaching for adults. Teo moved to Queensland in October 2020 and started his Superfish journey.
Teaching children life-saving skills and putting big smiles on their parents’ face are what I love the most in this industry.
My passion is to help Superfish families to experience the best services in Superfish facilities.
Teaching children life-saving skills and seeing the smiles on their parents’ faces is what I love most about this industry. My passion is helping Superfish families experience the very best service within our facilities.

Cheryl Lee
Manager | Redland Bay - Brisbane
Cheryl Lee has always been deeply involved in sport, representing her region and state across multiple disciplines. She holds a Bachelor of Human Movements and began her professional career as Sports Officer at James Cook University, where she also served as Assistant Manager of the Fitness Centre and Pool facilities. During this time, she completed a Bachelor of Science.
Alongside her administrative leadership, Cheryl coached swimming squads and delivered a learn-to-swim program tailored for children with disabilities. She later contributed to the design and implementation of the cardio studio at the University of Queensland before taking on the role of Fitness Centre Manager.
Her commitment to sport extends beyond aquatic disciplines - in 1998 she became both State and Australian Martial Arts Champion in her category.
My passion for sport, my love of swimming and the progress my child has made at Superfish encouraged me to return to doing what I love.

Mel
Pool Deck Supervisor | Benowa
When Mel became a mother, she knew she wanted her son to develop water safety before technique and lifelong swimming skills. At five months old, she enrolled him in infant swimming classes and has since experienced the full swim parent journey, supporting him through to state-level competitive swimming over the past 16 years.
More than a decade ago, while watching one of his lessons, Mel decided to enrol in a swim instructor course herself. Initially drawn to infant and toddler drowning prevention, she has since enjoyed teaching all levels through to squad.
In January 2019, Mel joined Superfish - the Learn to Swim Experts - valuing the strong emphasis on technique-first stroke development and structured water safety outcomes.
I can’t imagine teaching any other way. Every day brings instant job satisfaction, knowing you are helping children develop life-saving skills and a genuine joy in the water.
